WHAT WAS WRITTEN ON THE CLIFF TOP - BEGINNING ON THE TEXT ITSELF - THE NEW GOSPEL

                                                                                                                                                            cliff 1

          The supplicant began.
     On this holy hill.
And, let it be understood, he
was to make the Ultimate Invocation.
Not to the Evil One who can be
invoked, but to the True One
who cannot.
The True One comes as He wills.
By the power of all that is holy
within us...
                       and so the beginning...

         "Father, give me strength," the
supplicant began, "For I am afraid."
          " I am only a man, and I am
afraid. But I am willing to die this night,
to lay down my life, Father, in your
holy cause."
"Despite all the demons that beset
me. Despite the fact is is night, Father,
I know you to be in all things, this
night give me strength, for I am
afraid."
"But willing I am to lay down
my life. Let my limbs turn to ash that
the Truth may live. Father I ask you
to touch me with with your living breath
and give me your Son."
"Reveal Him to me, O Father, I
who am in the darkness waiting,
as the wild dogs bark, the snakes
lash in their caverns, the demons
gnash their teeth, O Lord, reveal
to me what You have to teach."

             So the invocation began, and
on it ran.

              "The firelight is dwindling Father,
the cool night embraces me. Oh the night.
Cool night. Cool wind of graves.
Ah the night embraces me.
Black night of ash. Long night with
no questions asked, only give me strength,
Father that the Great Deed  may be,
that the Son shall live within me,
that the two shall be one, as
they were always and they were
meant to be: One."
"Ah, but I shall not be fooled
in my Task by rhetoric," quoth he,
the supplicant, seeking tenaciously,
"Teach me what you have promised
to teach. Give me that Eternal Life
of which you speak."
"First you must die," the Father
said. "That you be born again, not of a
mother, but of Me. I who am the Living
One. I who have always been."

The demons of the night were on the
creep. The winds were wild. The very
night leaves sighed in spirituality,
of all variety.

"There is only One. I know this,
Great Father. Give to me then what
I ask, if I must die, then give me the Son."
                The supplicant was afraid again,
most afraid.
He asked the Father for strength. And
this is what the Father gave:
"Grace, my son, will not be contained
in any page, unless it is the Grace of
the Living One, whose life you asked,
whose life I gave, and give still. It has
been said: "Lesser poets borrow;"
"Great poets steal." Make of yourself
a Thief, my son, so that we may be done,
and the two shall be one."
              The supplicant replied: "Rather than
repeat all this sophistry, yes, let me then
be the Thief. What will You give to me
 that I may steal?"
The Father said:"I give you the heart
of all most wondrous of beauties, between
heaven and earth, 'til heaven and earth
are done. For past is future, and
future is past. I give to you the most wondrous
beauty of Truth. I give to you my Son."
The suplicant: "Well, let me see
Him then. I don't wish to begin to pout,
but the fire is going out, again."
The Father said: "In due time you
shall see Him. First, poet steal"

And so the poet began:
                "Whoever is near to Me,"
so said the Living Son,
                 "Is near the fire, and
whoever is far from Me is
far from the Kingdom."
                  Jesus said: "When you look
into a mirror and see your likeness
you rejoice, but when you see
your Image which came into
existence before you, how
much then you will have to bear!"

"Aha," the poet said, "At the
risk of being too audacious, I'll
put three logs on the fire, bright.
For where fires are light, three
are better than one. Then, at the
risk of being too rapacioius, how do
you like this one?"
Jesus said: "When you make the
two one, and when you make the inner
as the outer, and the above as below,
and when you make the male and
female into a single one, so that
male will not be male, and female
will not be female."
             "And when you make death
out of life, and life out of death,
when you make the Son out of man,
flesh out of spirit, and the spirit
out of flesh: then you will have
known the Living Breath."

          "Ah, guardian mother earth,
the poet thanks you for your
watchfulness. In this darkest hour,
he has need of you. May you be
forever blessed, as you have blessed
me here with watchfulness,the
guardian of the deep, I thank the
Father you have teeth."
            "Purify me, Father, in this
my Task."

             Jesus said:"Many times have you
desired o hear these words which I
say to, and you have no other
from whom to hear them. There
will be days when you seek Me
and not find Me"
"Do you also seek for the
treasure which fails not, which
endures, there where no moth
comes near to devour and where
no worm destroys?"
Jesus said: "I am the Light
that is above them all. I am the
All, the All came forth from Me
and the All attained to me."

            "All right," said the poet.,
supplicant, "All this you have
said before, what about something
new?"
            The Father said: "Well now,
that depends on you."
"What is there then," the poet
asked, "Beyond dying, death,
disease? Does time take all?
Or is there something beyond
these?"
             So is the Question formulated,
which begs at the boundaries of
belief.

          Jesus said: "Whoever drinks
from my mouth shall become as I am
and I myself will become he,
and the hidden things shall be
revealed to him."
          The poet said: "O Father.
O Living Son. What then is at
the heart of your mystery?
Release us in the midst of our
captivity. My Friend, release me."

          Above him wheeled the northern
lights, the galaxies, all went by unseen
in the midst of this discourse. The
fire burns. The spirits breathed.

Jesus said: "If those who lead you
say to: 'See the Kingdom is in
heaven', then the birds of the heaven
will precede you. If they say to you:
'It is in the sea,' then the fish will
precede you. But the Kingdom is
within you and it is without you. If
you will know yourselves, then you
will be known and you will know
that you are the sons of the Living
Father. But if you do not know your-
selves, then you are in poverty and
you are poverty.

"I know," the poet said: "That
the Kingdom is living still. And it
is not where men usually seek it.
And I know that those who should
keep the Door, have hidden the
keys: it is for this reason I speak.
Give me some new word, so I
need not merely repeat."
           "My friend," Jesus said, "We
have known each other far too long
to pretend. It will not be by excessive
zeal, but by love that you will come
to Me."
"It is out of love I Thee entreat,"
said the poet, "For all those who are
suffering, give me one new word to
speak."
"What is old is new. And what is
new is antique. There is one Treasure
only here, between heaven and earth;
I know I already hold the Key. And to
describe this treasure which few men
seek but all men hail, words fail.
So how am I then to speak?"
"All things shall pass away, earth
and sea, sun and sky; but there is that
that survives Will you not answer me
when I ask you? You say You are what
I am. Then who am I?"

There was no answer from the earth
or the sky. The night was silent.  Had
the Companion, then, left the poet,
alone, bereaved? Yes, apparently.
A lady carried a bag of seed,
thinking it to be full, she  walked
 homeward, the seed falling freely;
when she got home the bag felt
empty, and yet the bag was full.
"There is One who has overcome
Death. This I know," said the poet,
"As I know my very breath. Who is
this One?" asked the supplicant,
nearly tired to death. "I'm not
going to sleep until you tell me.
Until I know, I shall never rest."

"Lord, I know your Message can
not be heard by the ear, nor touched
by the hand, nor felt with the heart,
yet, without words, speak they Word
to me."
The poet asked: "Tell, Master,
what my end shall be?"
Jesus said: "Blessed is he who was
before he came into being. Do not
call me Master. For you have
tasted of Me; you have known My
waters; you shall know Me."
"But as to the end, have you
then discovered the beginning so that
you inquire about the end? For where
the beginning is, there shall be the
end. Blessed is he who shall stand
at the beginning, and he shall know
the end and hs shall not taste death."
Jesus said: "Blessed is he who was
before he came into being. I honour
such a man. For in truth I say to you,
verily: 'Before Abraham was, I am.'"
The poet said: "Dear Friends, give me
that Jewel which never perishes; that
Rose that flowers beyond the fabric
of time; give me what is mine."
Jesus said: "What you seek you have
already, but you know it not. For
you have five trees in Paradise,
which are unmoved in summer or
in winter and their leaves do not
fall. Whoever knows them will
not taste death."
Jesus said: "I am the True Vine.
Except it be of Me, no branch may
flourish."
Jesus said: I have cast fire upon the
world, and see, I guard it until the
world is afire. I shall choose you,
one out of a thousand, and two out
of ten thousand, and they shall
stand as a single one, until the
whole world is aflame."
The poet asked: "Shall you choose
me?"
Jesus said: "The choice is yours.
For if you shall choose Me, I shall
have chosen you. Within a man
of light there is light and he lights
the whole world. When he does not
shine, there is darkness. Love thy
brother as thy soul."
The poet asked: "How shall I find You?"
Jesus said: "You must fast from the
world, keeping the Sabbath. On that
Day follow no trade and do no
merchandising. For all are invited
to the Feast, but few sit at the
table and eat of the Fruit of the
Tree, few drink the blood of the
Vine, few taste of Me. Men
forever consumed in daily affairs
do not see what they need, and they
die unknowing."
"For the Harvest is great, but
the labourers are few. All are invited
to the Wedding, and the table is
abundant with the Feast, but few
come to eat. Therefore set aside
a Holy Day, forget your trades,
and that is how you shall find Me."
Uf you fast not from the world,
you will not find the Kingdom;
if you keep not the Sabbath as
Sabbath, you will not see the
Father."

The poet asked: "Where shall I find You?"
Jesus said: "I am where you are."
The poet asked: "What are You?"
Jesus said: "I am what you are."
The poet asked: "Who are You?"
Jesus said: "Know yourself and you
will know Me."
The poet asked: "How shall I know
myself?"
Jesus said: "You must become as a
small child in the rain who puts his
clothing beneath his feet and stands
naked and unashamed beneath the
heavens."
The poet asked: "How were you born?"
Jesus said: "I was born, not of a woman,
but of the Spirit. From Adam until John
the Baptist there is among those who are
born of woman none higher then John
the Baptist. But I am higher then John
the Baptist. My mother gave me life,
but My True Mother gave Me
the Life. Whoever does not hate
his father and his mother in My
way will not be able to be a disciple
to Me. And whoever does not love
his father and his mother in My way
will not be able to be a  disciple to Me.
Those who do the will of My Father,
they are My brethren and My mother;
these are they who shall enter the
Kingdom of my Father."
The poet asked: "Why must I suffer?"
Jesus said: "It is necessary to suffer
to find the Life. Two will rest on a
bed: the one will die, the other will
live. When you have made the two
one, then shall you find Me. But
first it is necessary to suffer
death, that the one may live. And
He who lives does not taste death."
The poet said: "As I told the Father,
I am afradi. Help me."
Jesus said: "You may find that place
of Rest, where there is no fear. But
first you must know death, that you
may live. Solitary are the ones who
enter the Bridal Chamber. You suffer
because you think you are alone.
The poet said:"I am not alone when
You are with me."
Jesus said: "But when I am gone from
you, then how will it be? Will you be
alone then, or will you know Me?"
The poet asked:  "How will I know
You when you are gone?"
Jesus said: "I am He that is from
the Same; my Father gave the Same
to Me; if you are of the Same you
will be filled with Light; if you
are divided, you will be filled
with darkness."

The poet asked: "How do I know that
You are indeed the True One?"
Jesus said: "Because I say what all
men need to hear. If my words are
not alive, ignore me. If another
speaks the Living Words, listen
to Him. He will be of Me. I am He,
as I am my Father's only Son.
Were I not the True One you would
know me to be a liar, for My words
would have no Life. But I speak
the Living Word. If another speaks
the Same, I am He. For I and the
Father are One. I am He who is
from the Same. I attained to the Same
and the Same attained to Me. I say to
you, friend, come to Me. Take up
My Way. The path is arduous, but
easy is My yoke and my lordship is
gentle. Come to me, so that you
may find peace."
"Lord," said the poet, "You frighten
me."
Jesus said: "Why should any man fear
what he is? What choice have you,
brother? For I am the All. I am
both near and far. And there is
nowhere to go but where you are!"
The poet: I thought men had free
choice."
Jesus said: "That is true. The Father
wanted men to choose. Still men are
free to choose darkness and untruth,
deceit and dilemma. In fact, most
men do."
Jesus said: "But all that exists truly is of
Me. Cleave a piece of wood, I am
there. Lifet up a stone, I am there.
Men who choose illusion may hide
fromk Me in the darkness of their
minds. But I am the True Life."
The poet said: "I need to find
the secret of the Eternal Life of which
You speak. How is it that I shall not
taste death if the Truth of your words
is revealed to me?"
Jesus said: "I admit to My Mystery
only those who are worthy. Make
yourself worthy, foolish man.
Whoever seeks will find, and
whoever knocks, the door will
be opened to him When you make
the two one, you shall become
a Son of Man."
         "Whoever drinks from My mouth
shall become as I am and I myself
will become he, and the hidden things
shall be revealed to him."

The poet said: "This is not what
I have been led to believe, reading your
words as they have been reported to us
across the centuries. I was told you died
2,000 years ago."
Jesus said: Do not listen to false teachers.
For they have dismissed the Living One
who is before them and they have spoken
about the dead. Do not listen to false
teachers. The Pharisees and the Scribes
have received the keys of Knowledge,
they have hidden them. They did not enter
and they did not let those enter who wished.
A vine has been planted without the Father
and, as it is not established, it will be
pulled up by the roots and destroyed."
The poet said: "Have you come again?
Will you come again?"
Jesus laughed and said:"I have answered your
questions, poet, and in the days to come
I will continue to answer them. But the
answer to this question you already know.
Read your own passages."

This is part of the first text written on the
cliff top on the rocks outside my hut.
I intend to type more of the passage
